I was very discouraged to realize that my sewing space has gotten to be quite a mess! I just can't seem to concentrate and get anything accomplished when my sewing room's a mess. But it seems like it's always a mess. I get it clean, start on a new project, and before I know it, it's a mess again. *sigh* It's a vicious circle.
Does anyone have this problem?
So instead of sewing this week, I decided to spend my time cleaning up and organizing my sewing room.
These were my little helpers during my cleanup. My daughter Ari and our 7-month old Golden Retriever, Bronco.
Two Charm Packs of Reunion by Sweetwater and 1/3 yard each of two of my favorite coordinating prints from that line.
I love this fabric! It's just pretty. I love Sweetwater also. I made a quilt for my daughter from their Pure line last year. There's just something classic and fun about their fabric lines.

To enter my giveaway, all you have to do is leave me a comment with some feedback about my blog!
I've only been blogging for about four months, and I just changed the look of my blog, now that I've had some time to collect some pictures of my quilts and things for the banner.
So take a quick look around and tell me what you think...good or not so good. But please be nice! Constructive criticism is always good to hear, but nothing mean, okay?
And, if you do like my blog, I'd love to welcome some new followers to my blog! But becoming a follower is not a requirement for the giveaway.
I'm participating in the Quilter's Blog Hop Party this week with the Quilting Gallery. It looks like it's going to be lots of fun with lots of fun blogs to visit and lots of fun giveaways, like mine!
Click the button to check out the list of blogs participating.
Anyway, to sum it up, to enter my giveaway to win two charm packs of Reunion plus two 1/3 yards of prints from the line, leave me a comment with some feedback about my blog. I would be honored for you to follow me as well.
I'll keep my giveaway open until March 23rd, at that point I'll randomly draw a winner and contact you, so be sure to leave contact information if you're a no-reply blogger!
Good luck, and have fun checking out all the fun blogs out there! I know I will!
P.S. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Love the photos on your blog. The three dollar quilt is GREAT! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love the new header! I'm a happy follower :) thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower! I love your header. Awesome giveaway! Who doesn't love Sweetwater?
ReplyDeleteVicki @ Quilting Lodge
Oh, good for you! This Canadian girl took a quick look around your blog, and I like what I see! I'm subscribing! :) Thanks for the giveaway. I love this fabric collection and don't have any yet in my possession!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower and I have to say that I love your header. I also like your quilts page - it is always fun to see what other quilters have made.
ReplyDeleteFrom one Idaho quilter to another, I say it looks great. Love the banner up top. I need to do one of these.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about playing around with format. I got rid of some of things on the side, like the subscribe button. Keep the followers, obviously, and your blog list because it's always fun to browse someone else's. It's your blog - make it yours!
I'm a brand new follower, here from the hop! I love the list of your favorite blogs along the side - I see a ton of my favorites on there, and some that I'll be sure to check out! Thanks for a great giveaway - I love that line. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you're blog looks great. The only thing I'd suggest is taking out word verification as alot of people don't bother with commenting if it's turned on. I've had mine turned off and really have had no spam. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower and I think you are doing just fine with your log. Your choice of giveaway fabrics is just wonderful! Thanks for the chance
ReplyDeleteI like your header pictures. The pinwheel quilt is very nice too. I'm enjoying the blog hop and finding new blogs to read.
ReplyDeleteI like your header, though I might use a gray or other neutral behind the photos to make it easier on the eyes and highlight the lovely photos even more. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteim a new follower, I really like your header and your daughters quilt is adorable..well done

ReplyDeleteHello Diane,
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick's Day. Love your quilting on your table runners etc. Have you done that yourself?
Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway.
Happy days.

Hi Diane -
ReplyDeleteI've never been to you blog before, but I certainly am going to become a follower now. Your blog is easy to read, and a pleasure to visit...I'll be back :) Thanks!
I like your blog - plain, simple and to the point? No flashing things to slow the loading down, or huge photos which take centuries to load. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteAnd because of all the above I'm now following you.
I like that it's bright, that you have another page that links to quilts you've made. If you do have word verification, please consider turning it off. Blogger reset that one recently, and I know a lot of people just won't (and sometimes can't because their computer won't read the words) comment if it's on. Thanks for a chance at the giveaway! I've been coveting these.
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is lovely - beautiful photos. My only suggestion is to have a tutorials page. Wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is easy to read and I like that - some are SO busy - and it's interesting! What a fine pair of helpers you had for your cleaning up project. It's a fab giveaway that you have and I thank you for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteLove your banner! (I need a new banner... *sigh*) Thank you for the lovely giveaway and the chance to win. Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteYou're certainly on a good track: regular posts, relevant material, great sewing, good pictures, and participating in blog hops and the like. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI loved your links to your finished quilt. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I follow your blog too.
What a nice giveaway, I love your header on the blog page, how did you make that? I'm a new follower
ReplyDeleteLove your header! Makes me remember that I need to redo mine... Anyway! I think your blog looks great. Can't wait to see where you go from here!
ReplyDeleteI like the photos in your blog heading and how it is easy to navigate. Thanks for the chance, I love Reunion and would make a lap quilt. I am also a new follower and look forward to your future posts.
ReplyDeleteI really like your new header :) I am a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteHi Diane. The new look is great! Love the header. I think if you just post about what YOU like, the rest of us will be inspired : )
ReplyDeleteHi Diane!, I can't give you many tips as I am a new blogger myself!. Your pictures are very good, and I love your projects, they are all so fresh looking!.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway! I am a new follower and everything looks great! Love your Pure Ruffled Love Quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. Like the pics of your quilts & I also like that I can subscribe to your posts my email. For me it's my favorite way of keeping up with the quilt blogs I like. Thanks for the great giveaway.

ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think you have a great blog! I became a follower!
As you continue to blog, your site will be fine tuned!
All is well!
Take care, Leslie
Your site has a nice clean appearance. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteAri is sooo cute. Love the fabric and will you come and clean my sewing room too? Your blog is just fun to visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best is that you don't cram tons of stuff on the page and the clear background with some white space makes it more pleasant. Some people have colored backgrounds and things going on all over the place, it's too difficult to enjoy reading.
ReplyDeleteI'm new here and to blogging. I think you have the most adorable little girl! This blog is easy to follow and read through. Thanks for joining in on the Hop Party!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed cruising through your blog & like your creativity in displaying quilts. It's nice to see that you include your kids and your "mistakes". Keep up the good work. I just became a follower and look forward to more blogging!
ReplyDeleteIt´s always inspiring to find a "new" blogger. New to me that is. I think you should be satisfied with your blog!
ReplyDeleteGun, Sweden
I like the way you have photos of your quilts under a separate tab. It's hard to believe you were able to make your son a quilt for $3.00. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteHi Dianne,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogland - I am sure that you are going to enjoy meeting lots of new quilt friends from around the world. I have been blogging for awhile now and found it a wonderful experience- there are lots of terrific quilters who love sharing their projects and passion for quilting. Thanks for participating in the quilt blog hop. If you get a chance I hope you will come and visit my blog too.
Regards from Western Canada,
Anna
I personally like the "clean" look of it; some blogs are so cluttered they can be more difficult to navigate. That cute pic of the little girl and the sweet dog doesn't hurt either ;>) Thanks for the chance to win; love Reunion! (marshudson at comcast dot net)
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower and love the banner on your blog. I will be back to look around more later:) My sewing room is always a mess! I clean it up and it never stays that way. Would love to win that pretty fabric too.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, nice and clean. Good photos. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI like the clean, airy feel of your blog. It makes it easy to see what you're posting. I've become a new follower so I can keep up with how you're doing. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, easy to use, thank you for the opportunity to win a lovely prize, I am also a new follower. :)
ReplyDeleteI think that you've made a great start on your blog, Diane. The banner is terrific. I like having an organized sewing space, but I've learned over the years that it's a work in progress rather than a task to be finished. Very nice fabric selection for your giveaway
ReplyDeleteWell, I love your header - the pictures of quilts at the top! I think it is astonishing that you have done all this in just 4 months!
ReplyDeleteI am a new blogger myself, and I think your blog looks great!! I also LOVE the quilt you made for your daughter! Sew beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI love you banner and your blog is easy to read.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane! I'm a new follower here. I like the look of your blog. It is very clean and open. I like your About Me page, too. I like what you said about calling it Brasier House to reserve the right to talk about your family! Ha! That's great! Chat away.
ReplyDeleteAs for critique, this is a small thing really. You have such a huge post space (where your written blog post is) Why not XL size your pictures? Your photo quality looks good enough to go up a size. I think bigger is better when it comes to beautiful images on your blog. :-)
Other than that, I can't find anything else!!
Your banner is lovely, and I like the layout of your blog. Plus, you sound quite smart, so I've become a follower. Looking forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteI agree with other commenters that your blog is uncluttered and easy to read. I enjoyed reading your "about" page as it made me feel like I knew you just a bit. I'm amazed that anyone with a large family finds time to make quilts!
ReplyDeletei just became a new follower and i am a new blogger to
ReplyDeleteI like your blog so much; I am going to follow you. There is nothing like new followers to help with encouragement; I find. Thank your for a chance to win this lovely fabric. Good luck with the sewing room clean up. Maybe you could do mine later?????lol

ReplyDeleteWell welcome to blog land! So far your blog is wonderful you have done a awesome job with it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the quilts in the header of your blog. I like how they look like polaroid photos. Thanks for a chance.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and your Pure Quilt is gorgeous!!! I like having the quilts on their own tab and love that you linked them back to the post where you blogged about them! Reunion is one of my all time favorite lines and I would LOVE to win this fabric!!! Thanks for the giveaway and I am a new follower of your blog!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog. It's easy to navigate and it isn't cluttered. I love your pinwheel quilt too.
ReplyDeleteLoveley give away you have, thanks for the opportunity! Always such fun the blog hop give away parties! I always love blogs with many pictures in it, like you do. You made a great start blogging, thats'so much fun!. Your lay-out is maybe a bit too much white? I love to have some background color at my blog at least, but ofcourse you do it the way you will like best! Most important is that you have fun blogging!
ReplyDeleteI like that your blog doesn't have things that flash or a slide show things like that which slow my computer down. Thanks for having a giveaway. I am a new follower.
ReplyDeleteI'm new and looks like you are off to a good start. Your daughter is a doll! Bronco is cute too! I don't get sidetracked about a messy sewing room cause mine is so small I am forced to maintain strict neatness or else I'd never sew.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog. I have visited several times. Love the quilts you have done. Don't worry about your sewing space. Mine is a mess too. Sometimes you just have to stop and sort before you can get to the creating again.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI haven't visited before but I like your chatty way of writing! Sorry to see you broke you're ruler - I've never seen that happen before!!
HI. I love your blog! I enjoyed looking around and I fell in love with your pinwheel quilt. The quilting is fantastic! Thanks for participating in the blog hop.(ccarter13@windstream.net)

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about sewing room messes and not being about to concentrate...I feel really guily for leaving a mess, but then get frustrated because I have no time to sew! UGH!! Welcome to blogging and thanks for hosting such a nice giveaway...hope the family is on the mend.

ReplyDeleteLove what I see! Love the college quilt too. Sent my girl off with one too! Thanks so much for the opportunity!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you all the way on throwing one's self out there. For the longest time I told no one and I didn't even comment on a blog because I really didn't know if I wanted anyone to find me. This January was the first where I joined some QAL'S, BOM'S and some linky parties. Talk about scared. I'm just learning how to quilt and having a riot. I'm a new follower and can't wait to read your posts. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's Pure quilt is wonderful. Great blog! Love how your photos in your header seem to float. Thanks for a fabulous giveaway! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello. I'm from Norway, and I've been looking around in your blog. I can see that you like the same as me, the colours, triangles, English paper piecing. So much pretty to see. I'll come back to you for sure. Happy to have the opportunity to win these fantastic fabrics.
ReplyDeleteYour banner is cute :D
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower
Love the sweetwater, and especially your quilt with the Pure! I really enjoyed reading your mission statement. Your free motion quilting is really nice, and very organic looking.
ReplyDeleteI am new to blogging as well. I only have FOUR yes count them FOUR followers! lol So I dont know how much my input would be worth to you. I have read many blogs. In fact it is how I have learned to sew. I just started only 9 months ago and LOVE it!! Now I am blogging too which for me is a real motivator to make more new and interesting things. Right now I am redoing my sewing room. I am also making many home dec items. Your blog looks great to me. I really love the banner too! I may have to try and see how to do something that adds to mine too like that!
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is Awesome! Your blog is so clean, and coming from a large family, I love the stories you tell about yours. It's who you are and that's why your quilts are great; you put yourself into them. Your photos are clear and large enough to see, keep up the GREAT work. I never heard of it, but I love the "Swoon" quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a great job on your blog. Your photos are clear, colours are beautiful. Love your $3 quilt. What a find. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI think your blog looks great! Enjoy posting! Oh, love the photos of the quils and beautiful Ari and pet! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job on your photos for your blog header. Thanks for a lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is great , love the header . Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am a newer blogger as well! I think your blog looks great! TO be honest, I love the white background, the fact that it loads quickly and your header! Some blogs take forever to load, so I will click on it and then go do something else while waiting for the background and such to load. Plus, I find it easier to read on the white.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Reunion collection also! It would be wonderful to win. Thanks for the chance.
Your quilts look great, I became a follower and look forward to watching your blog grow!
I love the Ruffles pattern you made for your daughter. It turned out great, and I'm sure she loves it. Your blog has a clean fresh look. Thanks for your very generous giveaway!

ReplyDeleteIt all looks good to me so far. I'm not really an expert in this type of thing, but your banner is gorgeous and so are your quilts/work. Everything is laid out nicely and easy to navigate through.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the look of your blog. I have become and look forward to your blogginh journey. I love your header. All those clan, clear colours appeal to me alot. Cheers, Karen
ReplyDeleteI'm surely no expert but I like what I see and thanks for your awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love the pinwheel quilt! You are good at putting colors together. You are lucky to have such cute helpers to clean your sewing room. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway. Great choice!
ReplyDeleteOk I looked really long and really hard, the only thing that would be nice, would be to make the headlines of the gadgets in the sidbar a tad darker. Else I really like the "clean" look.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance! that's a lovely give away.
I don't have a blog so I am not sure how easy or hard things are to do but your blog is great. It is easy to find things, the tabs on the top are informative and clear. Your photos are fantastic and clear. I would love to read more about how you think of ideas and how you design your quilts, do you throw away ideas or just fall into the right one straight away. I like a blog that is easy to read and yours is certainly that. The font is easy to read, the background is crisp and the photos reflect what you are talking about.
ReplyDeleteA great blog all round.
I think your doing really well. I love the "Polaroid" style pictures in your banner. They look great.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog...became your follower...and I love, love, love those fabric packs. I am a big fan of this fabric line, so beautiful and clean. Your blog is so easy on the eyes, especially once I clean up all the drool in front of the computer...I can't wait to see what's next for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so generous.
I love your header...great shots! I think your blog looks great - I appreciate simple, uncluttered blog layouts and yours is just that! Have fun blogging...I just started my blog a few months ago, too! Thanks for the giveaway - I LOVE Reunion (and anything by Sweetwater, really).
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I love the banner... it just seems so "homey" for lack of a better word. Very creative!!! Thanks for the chance to win!

I have enjoyed all your posts. I like the type of blog you have, I enjoy seeing pictures of quilts or whatever the blogger is working on. I know some don't like to see pets or family but I enjoy those pictures as well. I find it inspiring to see what other people are quilting. I am a new follower.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very nice, very easy to read also and lots of pictures. I think pictures help tell the story of our blogs. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLove this fabric! Your blog looks great - I would never have guessed you've only been blogging a month. The photos in the headers look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that the Reunion line is very classis and fun. There are so many ideas going thru my mind for quilts. I like the ideas of pictures. It just makes your blog more personal and what you are into. Here in Sonora, Ca it is snowing. I will be keeping myself warm while entering all the giveaways on the Blog Shop Party.

I luv your blog....it is bright and not cluttered. I'm a new followers #86. I'm enjoying the blog hop, thanks for participating and the opportunity to win some Reunion fabric...Sweetwater fabrics sure are 'SWEET'....hope your family is feeling better...hugs from Michigan...(o:
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks fresh and it is easy to get around. Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteDiane, can Bronco come and stay with me? What a face! He's so handsome I would just love to hug him to pieces, just like your sweet daughter Ari is doing in the photograph. You asked about sewing room messes and the continual ritualistic cleaning you seem always to have to do and YES I do that a lot lately, every time I get it half way in order I find something else to pay attention to and then the cycle begins all over again. This time it is my walk-in-closet which houses not only the clothing I wear but the fabrics I play with and it is a HUGE mess, if you have ever been to my blog you will have seen that mess cause I shared it - LOL anyhow, life in the sewing room might always be a tad messy cause if it wasn't we just aren't having fun, are we?
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!! I think it is easy to navigate. Enjoy the redesign! =)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your blog! Cannot wait to see more of your quilts.:) Thanks for the chance to win! :)

ReplyDelete4 months! Pretty impressive. I really like your daughter's going away quilt. I made a quilt when I went away to college and I just finished a new quilt top so I can recover it for the second time. The edges keep wearing away but the body is still warm and it has so many years of love in it that I just can't throw it away. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteHi, Blog Hops are fun...There is sure something about avoiding the chaos of a studio, isn't there? I ignored mine for months, and then, (i think) New Year's Eve...I suddenly was CONSUMED that I had to clean it! No turning back--just started throwing away, and sorting and rearranging furniture. It felt so good! Now, I'm not afraid or depressed to go inside, and as I work on the UFO's, I get happier, too.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog...one suggestion...more color on the background to compliment your love ly photos...maybe a light blue? hope youre family is well, soon. Thanks for offering your cool prize. bye for now!
